Drimpton Short Mat Bowls Club
Highlights from the Chairman’s Report 2011

Membership numbers have remained the same as last year.

Attendance:
Tuesdays – of 50 sessions the total attendance was 564 with an average 11.3 per session. The maximum attendance was 15, the minimum 6 (both one occasion only)

Wednesday – of 16 sessions the total attendance was 91 with an average 5.7. Maximum attendance of 9, minimum 4
(Note: At the AGM on 19th July a proposal was carried to change the evening session to Thursday for the forthcoming season)

The Tuesday afternoon session remains the most popular and has run almost every week, the only break being clashes with holidays and hall events. Wednesday evenings have run autumn to spring with a monthly break when Gardening Club meets.
Membership stands unchanged at 23 and, taking into account the attendance numbers, there is room for more members for the evening session.

Equipment
The main items of wear and tear are the mats which are now about 9 years old and showing signs wear but remain playable. The cost of replacement should be weighed against the degree of improvement which new mats would give the Club, the main problem being the uneven floor surface of the hall.
